Welcome to our new website. Here you will find easy to understand legal information to help you deal with everyday legal problems.   You are also in the right place for referrals to legal help resources in Nova Scotia, including finding a lawyer or mediator.  If you can't find what you are looking for on the site just contact us and we'll try to help.

Our new site is mobile-friendly, and is designed to make it easier to quickly find the legal information and resources you need.  This is a soft launch of the new site, and we are always working to make the site better, so please take our quick survey to let us know what you think works, and does not work, about the new site.

The Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia gratefully acknowledges funding for the development of our new more navigable website from the Law Foundation of Ontario (LFO) Access to Justice Fund. Development of the new site is part of our Public Legal Education in Nova Scotia (PLENS) project work.

The overarching goal of the PLENS Project is to create a solid infrastructure that will ensure the long-term sustainability of free, easy access to clear language legal information for Nova Scotians, facilitating access to legal information in complementary ways, including online and by telephone.
